Embers Web Design & Computer Repair is a home-based small business specializing in Website design and computer repairs. I have been designing Websites and performing computer repairs for 3 years and have owned my own small business, Embers Web Design & Computer Repair, for over 2 years.

My formal training and education began in Middle School learning on the early Apple® applications and later learning early versions of WordPerfect® and Microsoft® Office. I graduated from North High School in Wichita, Kansas in 1994 as a National Honors Scholar with the 10th highest GPA. I obtained my first degree, an Associate of Arts in Legal Assistant from Wichita State University in 1998 In December 2000, I graduated Cum Laude also from Wichita State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.

Shortly after graduating, I took a job with Sedgwick County at the Judge Riddel Boys Ranch in Goddard, Kansas and was eventually promoted to Senior Corrections Worker on 2nd shift. The "Ranch" is a treatment facility for male juvenile offenders between the ages of 13-18 years old. Working at the "Ranch" for over 4 1/2 years was the most rewarding experience I have had to date. My former co-workers and the boys at the ranch taught me so much that I don't think I could it sum up on one Web page, so I built a Website dedicated to them. They gave me self-confidence and restored my faith. Working at the "Ranch" encouraged me to continue my education. When one of our boys would leave, the one piece of advice I gave all of them was, "Never stop learning." I decided to take my own advice and I went back to college.

I attended classes at Cowley County Community College working towards an Associate of Art in Computer Information Systems and become a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer®. After 11 years of college, the one thing I learned was computers. Being a college student for so long forced me to fix my own computer because I didn't have the money to pay someone to fix it. The result was, I actually liked working on computer which what drove me to major in Computer Information Systems. I wanted to learn something new and exciting. While taking Microsoft® classes, I evened out my course load with Website design classes and on December 16, 2005, graduated with an Associate of Arts in Computer Information Systems.
